Douglas Laing - Directors' Cut North British 52 Year Old (1962) 70 cl / 41.1 % Schottland
Douglas Laing's Directors' Cut range is a unique selection of old and rare Single Malt and Single Grain whiskies, bottled from individual single casks at cask strength. Each is bottled exactly the way the distiller intended: without colouring, or chill-filtration. Prior to the launch of Xtra Old Particular in 2013, the Douglas Laing "family jewels"- our oldest and rarest Whiskies were bottled under the Directors' Cut brand. We no longer produce Directors' Cut, so these, our few remaining stocks, are particularly special to us. This particular bottling was aged for 52 glorious years, after its distillation at the North British Distillery in 1962.
On the nose, detect dark Honey, beeswax, concentrated vanilla, rich spices and milk chocolate. The palate is mouth-coatingly spicy, still sweet, with toffee, more chocolate, honey and vanilla. A medium-long with rum and raisin spices, vanilla ice cream. Distinctly moreish.
